muir medical center in walnut creek with the story. >>reporter: officer's body is still here at the hospital which has lowered the flag to half staff because he was an organ donor and the process is ongoing. now tonight there's a new push to try to create a lasting memorial so that this officer's legacy will live on. chp kenyon young strom never will be forgotten. group of supporters hope to ensure that with a facebook campaign. this page is an effort to dedicate this stretch of i 6 80 in walnut creek where the officer was shot the memorial freeway. by 10:00 p.m. the page had already received more than 13,000 like. bay area blogger behind the push. he wishes to remain anonymous but says he was asked to do so by law enforcement friend. he believes it's important to remember those who gave their lives protecting us and says this is the way to keep the officers name alive. right now

officer young strom body is here at the medical center because his life work is not yet complete. as an organ tissue donor he has the potential to save more than 50 lives. >> we can im pajt 8 lives from organ and more than 50 lives from tissue. so the organ we can transplant are heart, live liver, lung, kidney, pancreas and we can split liver into 2 on occasion for very young healthy donor. we can split the liver and give a segment to 2 different individual. >>reporter: his family has release add statement saying in part kenyon was always giving to others and serving others as chp officer and in his life with us. our grieve is overwhelm but in his special way he carries on in helping others. and the community is appreciative. some even stopped by the chp martinez office where he worked out of to pay their respect. >> this officer was injured and killed in a senseless act. and we just wanted to bring these,

ex girlfriend's house. she lives on james court. i spoke with her late tonight and she was in the process of filing a restraining order in redwood city when he got into her home and took the couple 2 children. her mother was watching the kids at the time. she says he ran down the street with the kids. still had his car running. put the kids inside and then sped away. >> i'm afraid if they back him into a corner. i don't want him to snap and do something really stupid any more than what he has already done. so i'm really worried for my killed. i just want them to come back home to me safe and unharmed. >>reporter: l after he left south san francisco officials say he drove to the marina in alameda as you mentioned and stole this yacht. this is a photo of the 40 foot yacht named unleash. yacht also hassan fran painted on the stevrnlt the last time the yacht was seen was yesterday around 6:00 p.m. near mare

officials. tonight a few dozen people came to the san mateo county history museum to watch it. it was living the nightmare all over again for her. >> it was very edgey to me. thank goodness i had my family with me to kind of walk it through because i have had a really hard time just recovering from this. >>reporter: for nancy watching the documentary was a different experience. she was out of town when the fire from the explosion destroyed her house. her husband bob was home alone. but managed to escape. >> i always feel guilty because i wasn't there and yet i'm glad i wasn't because i don't think i would be here today. i panic when he's the calm one. >>reporter: peninsula resident and document directed trial by fire. it goes back to the very beginning. from how everyone first thought the pipeline ex completion was a plane crash. first responders also recall how they were unable to get water right away because the water main was blown out of the

ground. as for pg&e culpability in all of it. >>reporter: no mention of that. >> that's somebody else's movi movie. i'm not about that. i'm about this can happen. people need to work together and cooperate in the face of this. >>reporter: that's exactly why san bruno mayor says everyone should watch the trial by fire because what happened in san bruno can still happen any wlichlt not just san bruno specific issue. it's a california issue and nationwide issue. >>reporter: the documentary is now available here at the san mateo county history museum. it can be check out at the research library. in redwood city, abc 7 news. >> authorities are warning that san jose homeless encampment with mainly contributor to water pollution. many along water way like the coyote creek and run off from tons of debris and waste flow from his them to the bay. san jose tried to clear some of the encampment over the summer but estimated 900 homeless people and trash quickly returned. san jose
